to clarify whether your ancestors came from the city of Hannover,
or whether "Hannover" just means the Kingdom. This
thorough check considers all possible spellings of a family
name (example: Vahlenbruch - Fahlenbruch - Falenbrock etc.)
as names changed considerably up to the middle of the 19th century;

Index that contains more than one million names with biographical
information taken from the Deutsches Biographisches Archiv and
